LAWup — Find IT 2024 UX Competition
Find IT 2024 · UX Competition · Winner
Why is public understanding of the law still so low?
Legal language is dense and resources are scarce. We discovered that people lack motivation to study law because it's perceived as boring and overly complex, yet they experience significant anxiety over the consequences of this ignorance.
"How might we present legal materials in an engaging and easy-to-understand way, simplify complex terminology, and overcome comprehension barriers to increase user engagement?"
Through surveys and interviews, we uncovered a stark reality: while 90% of respondents feel understanding Indonesian law is extremely important, 57% struggle to comprehend legal terminology, and many don't even know where to start learning.
"There is no push to learn law because there is a lot of legal reading and it's hard to digest."
